In the early hours of Sunday, at least six people are still trapped in the rubble of a collapsed, unfinished seven-story building at Oba Idowu Oniru Street, next to Avi Maria Hospital, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to reports, the under-construction structure collapsed on Sunday night, necessitating the use of a heavy-duty excavator to free the trapped victims.
Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), stated that when he arrived at the scene of the accident, a 7-story structure that was still under construction had collapsed.
The Agency's heavy-duty excavator will be needed to free the victims who are trapped. The Lagos State Response plan has been put into effect. Continuation of the operation. Rescue efforts to free the trapped individuals were still going on as of publication time (7:30 am).
No one was hurt, however six people are reportedly trapped under the wreckage of the fallen building.
