Ninolowo Declares Assembly Bid, Unveils Free Medical Outreach in Agege

The political atmosphere in Agege Constituency 02 gathered momentum on Wednesday as Dr. Azeez Oladapo Yusuf, popularly known as Ninolowo, formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The declaration, held at Power Line in Oko-Oba, Orile Agege, drew a large crowd of supporters, community leaders, youths, traders, and party faithful, signaling early grassroots backing ahead of the 2027 elections.
Running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Yusuf described his ambition as a continuation of years of community service and engagement, rather than a fresh political pursuit. He emphasized his commitment to inclusive representation, people-oriented policies, and sustainable development across the constituency.
“This is not just about politics; it is about service, about giving the people of Agege a stronger voice and ensuring their needs are met with action and integrity,” he said during the event.
The declaration ceremony doubled as a community-focused initiative, featuring the second phase of a free medical outreach organised in collaboration with Rt. Hon. Dr. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa. The outreach, powered by the Ninolowo Foundation, has provided free healthcare services to residents over the past two days.
Beneficiaries at the outreach commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful, particularly amid rising healthcare costs. Organisers said the programme was designed to support vulnerable residents while reinforcing the campaign’s message of compassion and service.
Observers say Yusuf’s early declaration and community engagement strategy could shape political dynamics in Agege as the 2027 race approaches. His supporters maintain that his track record in empowerment programmes and grassroots mobilisation positions him as a strong contender.
As proceedings concluded, chants and displays of solidarity echoed through the venue, reflecting growing enthusiasm around his candidacy.
