Nigerian rescuers said on Tuesday that at least 157 people have died following Sunday’s plane crash in the city of Lagos.
Officials said four people were killed in an apartment block in the neighbourhood where the Dana Air plane came down.
That number is in addition to the 153 crew and passengers who were onboard at the time.
The death toll could rise further as search teams continue their work.
The plane was travelling from the capital Abuja to Lagos.
Both of its engines failed as it was coming in to land, civil aviation authorities said.
Investigators are still studying the flight’s black box recorder
Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has vowed there will never be a repeat of the disaster and has promised to improve air safety.
