WORDS OF WISDOM FROM STEVE JOBS
You need a lot of passion for what you're doing because its so hard. Without passion, any rational person would give up. So if youre not having fun doing it, if you dont absolutely love it, youre going to give up.And thats what happens to most people, actually. If
you look at the ones that ended up being successful in the eyes of
society, often times its the ones who love what they do, so they could
persevere when it got really tough.
And the ones that didnt love it, quit. Because theyre sane, right? Who would put up with this stuff if you dont love it? So its a lot of hard work and its a lot of meditating constantly.
If you dont love it, youre going to fail.

Monarch Calls for More Investment in Agribusiness
Monarch Calls for More Investment
in Agribusiness
By Yemi Olakitan
The
traditional ruler of Ara Ekiti, Ekiti state, Oba Emanuel Folorunsho Adedara has called for more
investment in agri business in the country. He was speaking at the official presentation of the staff of office and the
celebration of his 10th year anniversary in office. According to
him, agriculture remained one of the untapped potentials of the Nigerian nation,
which successive governments have not fully invested in. He said it was
necessary to focus on agriculture since it is one of the nation’s areas of
comparative advantage. He vowed to make land available to any group of people
or individuals who would like to invest in agriculture in Ara Ekiti. He called on state, federal and private
institutions to embrace agriculture, which he believes holds greater promise
for the future generation than oil.
The Alara of Ara Ekiti,
Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti state, said his passion for agriculture stemmed
from the fact that Nigerians are suffering in the midst of plenty. ‘‘We have
such a rich agricultural endowment in terms of our huge arable land and massive
manpower. If we invest in agriculture, we can easily eradicate poverty in the
country’’ he said. Speaking further, he wondered why the
nation has so much arable land and hundreds of employable young people and but
do not invest heavily in agribusiness. The monarch concluded that Agriculture
is the way forward if Nigeria must join the league of industrialised nations.
He said his kingdom is willing to give as much as 20,000 hectares of land to
anyone willing to invest in Ara Ekiti.
The 10th year anniversary and coronation ceremonies took
place at Ara Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti state. It was a week-
long activity, which was kicked off by the Ara Ekiti youths. The Iwuye ceremony
took place on the second day. The unique gathering was used by the Oba to feast
and pray for the town as well as his subjects and buttress his commitment to the
development of agriculture. Youth empowerment and career talk was held on day
three. Oba Adedara was presented with his official staff of
office by the government and people of Ekiti State during the celebrations on
the fifth Day, which was the grand finale.
Just Like Jude: Finally, a movie for kids by the Kids
kids on the set of the movie: Just Like Jude
In the last
two and half decades, more than any other medium, the Audio Visual has been the
greatest fascination of the Nigerian children, adolescents and even adults. We have watched so many movies which talked about how
parents get their problems solved through the help of someone who was able to
make them speak up, but the problem of the little child which has made him/her
silent is not taken serious or noticed.
Children like every human are
fascinated through audio visuals like cartoons, spider man, Barbie, Ben 10 and
many more. Many film and television producers
shy away and avoid children productions, either because they find it tedious
working with kids or they tag them as being petty, stubborn or childish. This is what led to the the MOVIE “JUST LIKE JUDE” Damilare and Oyindamola are two major characters in the movie who will always want to wake up and find
themselves right beside their parents who are so in love and love them in
return. They call their home one which is made in heaven and they love it so
much that they want their friends to be part of it. When Damilare heard the word “divorce” from a boy who was once
the happiest boy in school and what it has turned him into, he feared to be
part of that world.
It was his turn to have a taste of broken home and it sends
his mind racing…is this what I will be going through? It affected him psychologically
and academically and all hope that he was going to come out of his shell proves
abortive, how on earth can this be happening to him? Oyindamola feels it’s a
little problem the parents will get over and Ibeh his friend could not even
help him out of his shell and when Uncle James came in, it becomes a matter of
letting go or holding on.

UNILAG students drag Jonathan to court over renaming of varsity
UNILAG students drag Jonathan to court over renaming of varsity
Written by Akeem Nafiu, LagosTuesday, 05 June 2012
Some students of Moshood Abiola University (formerly University of Lagos), have dragged President Goodluck Jonathan to a Federal High Court in Lagos presided over by Justice Mohammed Liman for changing the name of the school.
The president had, in his Democracy Day broadcast to the nation, announced the renaming of UNILAG to Moshood Abiola University to honour the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola.
In the originating summons, the students, numbering 10, are seeking for a declaration that the University of Lagos, being a creation of an Act of the National Assembly to wit: University of Lagos Act 1967 (as amended), cannot be governed except in accordance with the provisions of the University of Lagos Act 1967.
Also, the students are seeking for a declaration that the power to change or amend the name of University of Lagos, being a corporate body having perpetual succession with common seal as provided under the University of Lagos Act 1967(as amended), belongs to the lational legislature.
Consequently, they are seeking for the court's order declaring that the announcement contained in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria's May 29, 2012, broadcast changing the name of University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University is unconstitutional, ultra vires, null and void and of no effect whatsoever.
The students put forward two questions for the court's determination. These are:
(1) Whether the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in his capacity as the Visitor to University of Lagos has the power under the University of Lagos Act 1967, to unilaterally change the name of the institution to Moshood Abiola University?
(2) Whether the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in the exercise of the executive powers of the federation vested in him in Section 5 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, can unilaterally change the name of University of Lagos without recourse to the National Assembly?
